© Hilary Sinclair 2010 Woodland collection - Steling silver elegant, flowing bracelet My work is informed by the maker's curiosity about form, process and materials.  Originally working with silver and combinations of metals, my continuing fascination with developing new techniques has led me to investigate ways in which a variety of British and exotic woods can be used in combination with precious metal to create a collection of beautiful, easy to wear jewellery pieces. The nature of the organic material dictates that no two pieces are ever identical.  Each piece involves new investigation and each proves the maker's belief that the silver works perfectly with the living wood to create simple, tactile pieces. I am a member of the Surrey Guild of Craftsmen based in Milford. In 2009 one of my pieces was displayed at the V&A in the ‘Inspired By’ competition and I was a prizewinner in the National Skills Challenge 2008. I also exhibited in the Carshalton’s Got Talent 2009 exhibition in Surrey. Commissions are accepted for new work or based on anything you may see here on the website.
